Ask the Telecom Pro
In October, AOTMP’s SVP of Efficiency First® Adoption, Timothy C. Colwell, addressed what appears to be a very simple question at Mobi’s Untethered event as he presented a session on “Mobile Transformation & Industry Evolution”: What is enterprise mobility Management (EMM) and what do EMM vendors offer enterprises? As the topic is evolving and growing with the speed of technology, Tim provides structure and definition to an otherwise broad topic on this edition of “Ask the Telecom Pro”:
Q: What is Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM)?
A: Enterprise mobility management (EMM) is the comprehensive set of enterprise-wide mobility related people, processes, policies, vendors and technologies involved in managing the lifecycle of all mobile devices, M2M and IoT connected endpoints, services and applications.
Managed Mobility Services (MMS) is a managed service offering provided by a vendor supporting all or part of an organization’s EMM practice.
Q: What do EMM vendors offer?
A: Software – MAM, MCM, MDM, MEM, MIM/IAM, UEM
Services (Partial or Full MMS) – Audit, Optimization, Invoice Processing, Inventory, Dispute Resolution/Exception Management, EMM Software Administration, Help Desk, Procurement, Fulfillment (Device Kitting/Logistics), IT Asset Disposition (ITAD)
