Overseas Territory Eligibility
Some British, French, and Dutch overseas territories are eligible for protection under the General Data Protection Regulation. An example of this is the eligibility of citizens of Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao as residents are citizens of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, a European Union member state.
Brexit and the GDPR
Until October 2019, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and its overseas territories are still members of the European Union with the exception of the Crown Dependencies. These are members of the EFTA. If you are a resident of the Crown Dependencies, please choose “United Kingdom” in the list below. After October 2019, the Parliament of the United Kingdom intends to enact its own version of the GDPR which should see no substantial changes. Please consult the Information Commissioner’s Office for more information.
